Small games for team decisions

Choose one complete 30-minute practice for your group. These eight plans are alternatives, not a single four-hour session. Each folder contains a coach card, three diagrams, timeline CSV and practice data.

Receive your return pass beyond a screenU9–U1282Coordinate the original passer and a wall player so a return pass reaches the far side of a stationary screen.
Break a return-pass loop with a third playerU9–U1262Help the player receiving a pass connect with a third teammate instead of returning every ball to the same partner.
Change sides as a neutral helperU9–U1281Practise switching support immediately when possession changes, using two neutral side helpers who always assist the current ball carrier.
Defend the opponents’ current objectiveU11–U1281Adjust defending when one team scores through consecutive passes and the other scores through either end-line gate.
Mirror a partner’s turn without chasingU6–U866Keep an individual ball close while reading and copying a partner’s change of direction at a comfortable distance.
Find a new gate after scoringU9–U1261Recognise that the gate just used is temporarily closed and move the next attack toward another part of the pitch.
Restart a sideline ball togetherU8–U1061Agree who last touched a ball that crossed the sideline, then organise a calm ground-pass restart with clear spacing.
Replay an attack after a team timeoutU9–U1281Use one short team timeout to identify a crowded attack, change one supporting position and test the new route immediately.

Take a plan to the pitch

  1. Extract the whole ZIP before opening a coach card.
  2. Read the setup and rotation. Check your actual clear space, equipment and supervision.
  3. Use the included timeline or print the card with your browser. A prepared PDF is not included.
  4. Keep the diagrams beside the role instructions; the drawings are schematic.
  5. Use the observation prompts to decide whether to repeat, simplify or progress.

Check conditions

Stop outdoor play if the surface or weather is unsuitable. Use an indoor area only when it provides the full stated clear footprint and suitable supervision; otherwise use a stationary walk-through of roles and reschedule active play. Do not squeeze a live game into an inadequate space.
